UAC, Aeroflot sign 1 tln rbl deal on 339 aircraft delivery

VLADIVOSTOK, Sep 7 (PRIME) -- Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and national flagship carrier Aeroflot have signed a letter of intent to get 339 national aircraft in 2023–2030 on lease for a total of more than 1 trillion rubles, the two companies said in a joint statement on Wednesday.

Aeroflot plans to receive 210 MC-21 aircraft, 89 Superjet-New aircraft, and 40 Tu-214 planes in the period. UAC is to deliver the two first Superjet-New planes in 2023 and the first six MC-21s and seven Tu-214s after 2024.

“Taking into account the unprecedented amount of the order, its fulfillment will become one of UAC’s priorities for the next several years because transport accessibility of Russia’s regions and mobility of its population depend on the agreement,” the companies said quoting UAC CEO Yury Slyusar.

“We understand the importance of our tasks, and we plan to sign the first firm orders for the delivery of planes in 2023–2025 until the end of this year.”

Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told reporters that the sum of the contract exceeded 1 trillion rubles.
